2012 was yet another successful year at WVUD. We’ve continued to offer diverse and enjoyable programming on WVUD. The same can be said for sister station ‘The Basement’, where we’ve added more local programming than ever before! WVUD has also made a commitment to being visible in the community. We’ve appeared at parades, sporting events, and festivals and we’ve put on concerts on and off campus in Newark and beyond! Additionally, we’ve continued to provide vital community information for our listeners on a daily basis. Where other radio stations have failed, WVUD continues to take its FCC charge of operating in the public interest VERY seriously.
It seems like only yesterday, we made the jump to 6,800 watts and added HD Radio. That historic jump is now in our rearview mirror and we are looking towards an exciting future for WVUD. This future will include a continuation of our past efforts but will also consist of adding new technologies and caring for the equipment that we already have. Things such as webservers, audio computers, mixing consoles, and more are all necessary, but pricey items, that we have to contend with. Now, more than ever, we need your help!
Radiothon 2013 (March 1-10) will enable WVUD to continue to prepare for all that the future will bring. Please consider sending in your early pledge now. This will give us a head start towards our $40,000 fund raising goal and will allow us more on-air time for attracting new supporters.
If you would like to claim a premium (our way of saying thank you) for your contribution, please indicate this on the attached pledge form. You do NOT need to call in to pledge if you turn in this form.
Thank you again for your continued support of WVUD.
