Radiothon 2010 marks a crucial point in the history of WVUD,
and we are counting on our listeners to make possible what was
once thought to be impossible. What are we talking about?
WVUD has been granted the opportunity to move from our current
power of 1,000 watts to a new power of 6,800 watts. The time
frame for us to do this is very limited and we can’t make it happen without your support.
What will 6,800 watts of power mean to WVUD and its listeners?
This increase would help to strengthen coverage in fringe listening
areas and in certain ‘dead’ spots in our primary listening area. It
would also push our signal further, especially to the south into lower
New Castle County and into the North Wilmington area. Most
importantly, this power increase will protect the coverage that we already have.
Without it, we will continue to be squeezed from all sides as surrounding
stations increase their power. While movingto 6,800 watts is not a panacea
for all coverage issues, it will go a long way towards maintaining and
strengthening WVUD’s standing on the dial.
Our Radiothon 2010 goal is $57,000 and with your support we know that we can reach it. If you value what WVUD has to offer, please continue to support us financially this year. If you are someone who has never pledged, there is no better time to start. Every dollar will be essential in reaching our goal. While Radiothon goes from March 12-21, your early pledge will allow us to get a head start on this fund raiser and to dedicate more on-air time to attracting new supporters.
If you would like to claim a premium (our way of saying thank you) for your contribution, please indicate this on the attached form.
Thank you for your continued support of WVUD.
